Principle of Operation
Ozone is another form of oxygen produced by
combining electricity and air. Ozone (O3) is an extremely
strong oxidizer capable of destroying odors. First, the ozone combines
with the chemicals that cause the odor. Then, it alters the chemical
makeup of that particular odor. Ozone ruptures the cell membrane of
organisms such as mold, mildew, spores, bacteria, and fungus, thus
killing them.
The air/ozone treatment can eliminate odors
permanently, providing the contamination is not reintroduced. If the
source of the odor cannot be eliminated, then the ozone treatment will
need to be used on a regular basis. (OSHA ozone exposure limit = 0.1 ppm
in an 8-hour period. Air/ozone equipment must not operate when personnel
or animals are present in treatment area.)
How is
the Air/Ozone Equipment Installed?
Very easily
and quickly. No installation is required. Simply place on floor or
table, plug into a standard wall outlet, point the ozone outlet in
the direction of the AC return or area to be treated, turn on and
vacate the treatment area. In minutes or hours (depending on the
size of the treatment area and what's to be treated), odor will be
eliminated. Multiple or larger units can be used if
necessary. |
