Flood Prevention at your finger tips

Water leaks can occur anywhere in your home:

  • Rarely when you’re home
  • Almost always when you’re away
  • Occasionally when you’re sleeping

Why wait for a leak to occur before you shut off the water? Why rely on a sensitive detector to possibly malfunction and not stop a flood?

Take the situation into your own hands and turn off the water before a leak turns your home into a wading pool; ruining your flooring, walls, furniture, appliances, family heirlooms and peace of mind.

Your insurance company may offer discounts for leak prevention & detection devices.

What can be better for stopping flood damage than having the water turned off?

The first thing one should do to prevent or stop a leak is shut off the water. Damage usually occurs before a leak is discovered. Shutting off the water quickly while you’re home can minimize the damage, but what if you’re asleep or away? Thousands of gallons can be released before the leak’s detected. Not with Flood-Prevention

According to leading Insurance company statistics:

Water using appliances and fixtures such as: refrigerators with an ice-maker, dishwashers, washing machines, toilets and water heaters are common sources of leaks. Unfortunately, slow leaks are sometimes impossible to detect…until it’s too late.

Water damage in the walls and floors can cause both fungal and bacterial contamination, resulting in hazardous mildew that may not be insured.

Flood-Prevention is our leak prevention & detection system, which has prevented catastrophic leak damages and subsequent health risks.

Statistics…will you be next?

Insurers in California paid $430M in water-related claims in 2001 versus $206M in 1997. Water-related claims account for 24% of all homeowners' claims in 1997, but grew to 32% of all claims in 2001. While this information includes floods and other catastrophic damages, water leak prevention could have addressed a large portion of these. Finally, indirect evidence from insurance providers shows that water is accounting for a higher portion of the costs.

250,000 US families per year have been disrupted by leaks, damage, repairs, and time consuming estimates.

5 million water heaters per year leak on average.

$150 million in damages caused by washing machine leaks per year on average.

The Wall Street Journal featured 4 articles since June 2002 concerning home insurance policy cancellation:
